Mixer, Grillin' & Chillin': As the Rumplers funnel in, we'll have the beer flowing and the grills humming. Kick off the 2009 Rumple in style, it will be the last moderately sober meal for many. Rumple Big Break: As the host of Big Break X: Michigan, Boyne Highlands is well acquainted with the tradition. Reviving a 2006 favorite, it's a drunken gambler's delight as we weave our way through backyards and forests en route to a Rumple Big Break Champion. Opening Ceremony: Come see Brian Larsen get heckled as he gives the same speech about slow play and pours out a little beer for the fallen Rumplers. Then set it off by mocking the Flying Dutchman as he tries to explain the gambling. Drink until Deci: CANCELLED (Deci will sadly not be in attendance this year, therefore, pick a Rumpler and make him do shots). Rumple Cook Off: Grigg is making ribs and Huttenga is making Pork Loin. Supplemented with German Potato Salad and Chips & Guacamole. If you aren't making anything, you pay $10. Casino Royale: Friday night we'll be off the courses well in advance of sunset so after the Cook Off, those of the persuasion should have plenty of time to make the casino floor. We'll solicit interested parties and arrange the shuttle. Dinner @ Boyne: This year, part of the package prize includes dinner on Boyne's outdoor patio. Only thing that would make it better is if the bar bill had a patron saint. Aka, alcohol not included. Par 3 Challenge: After dinner, a one club, one ball, night lit par 3 course. We'll pack in booze, take only pictures and leave only footprints. Lunch & Awards: Pony up to the clubhouse bar. We'll enter the scores in the spreadsheet, announce the winners, tell lies about each other and say goodbye for another year. Or, perhaps, until I see you again. |
